Shoe Care: Cleaning Your Leather Boots and Shoes

Take the "chore" out of cleaning your leather boots and shoes! This is a three in one balm that functions as a cleaner, conditioner, and leather protector! We know that you care about your full grain leather boots and shoes and we wanted to bring you the best natural product to care for them. After much research and testing, we think we found the best and easiest product for you! It's all natural, of course, and is made in the USA! Read on, you'll love it too!

All Natural Smith's Leather Balm

Details:

  • -1 Oz. tin handmade in Maine
  • -Made with only 3 all natural ingredients
  • -Can be applied safely by hand without a rag or messy clean up
  • -Fits conveniently in a pocket or gear
  • -Neutral color; works on all smooth leathers.
  • -Safe for kids and for older children to apply to their boots themselves

Application:

  • 1. Ensure that leather goods are clean and dry
  • 2. Test small amount on a hidden patch of leather to preview results
  • 3. Start with a small amount. A little goes a long way
  • 4. Best applied by hand and massaged into leather, but a clean rag works also
  • 5. Leather will absorb the balm immediately some leathers may darken slightly but return to their natural shade within 24 hours
  • 6. Repeat as necessary to protect, restore, and extend life of leather goods

We also recommend you use The Frye Company Shoe Polish to condition and wear-proof our lovely boots (follow the Frye instructions to polish boots).

  • 1. Brush dust off with a horsehair brush or with a clean towel.
  • 2. Cover the entire shoe with a generous amount of polish using your shoe polish brush, or with a clean towel.
  • 3. Brush the entire shoe vigorously; wipe excess polish with a dry clean cloth.

 

Exchange and Repairs

(Final Sale or Outlet items are excluded, within 10 days)

If the size you received does not fit you, we are happy to help you return them for shop credit in order to reorder the correct size.
• To receive store credit for your exchange/return, the original product must be unworn and in new condition.
• Exchange/return requests must be made within 10 days of receiving your shoes. Requests after this point will be denied.
• We offer size exchanges/returns in the contiguous US, unless otherwise noted on certain products (namely custom made orders).
• Unfortunately, we are unable to offer exchanges/returns for giveaway winners, auctions, or purchases made from resale Facebook BST pages, or any unauthorized seller.
• Free size exchanges are offered for Women and Men items only within the contiguous US and if merchandise is unworn and brand new.
• Only one free exchange per order. For example, if you exchange for another pair and that size doesn't fit you either, the shipping cost for a second exchange is then paid by the customer.
• Please note that for returns shop credit will be issued for the cost of the product minus shipping, we cannot refund shipping fees.

HOW DO I MAKE A SIZE EXCHANGE/RETURN?
Please follow these steps and read the requirements. Your boots or shoes must be in their original sellable condition.
• Go to www.mikoleon.com/pages/sizeexchangeform.
• Fill out the information and click submit at the bottom of the form.
• Wait for our customer service rep to contact you to review your submission for approval. Please allow 2-3 working days for our CS rep to reply to your request.
Once your size exchange/return has been approved. Our customer service rep will email you a return prepaid label. After you package your item, adhere label to box. Ship items to:

All products must be shipped back unworn and with labels on in the original packaging and the packaging must not be defaced in any way or a refund will not be issued. The returned items will be inspected to see if they qualify for an exchange/return. Damaged merchandise or products with labels removed will not be exchanged and you will be invoiced the appropriate amount to cover the cost of shipping the shoes back to you.

A shop credit must be used within one (1) year from being issued. A shop credit cannot be reissued if it is not used by the expiration date. All sales are final on Custom Orders.

Mikoleon LLC will not be responsible for returns lost in transit. We suggest you insure your return package with carrier of your choice.

Mikoleon does not have exchanges or refunds available for international orders.

How we make them

A craftsman cuts the leather by hand, choosing the leather carefully and making sure that he follows the grain of the leather, his expert eye tells him the best way to cut each piece. He then sews each piece with accuracy and exactness only seasoned cobblers have mastered. Each upper body is placed then in the shoe form and with skilled and strength, the master cobbler dresses the form and prepares it to attach the leather sole. The soles are then layered, one on top of another, he then cuts and sands the leather to perfection. Once the glue is dry the leather Artisan then carefully builds-up the finish with an expert’s eye, and touch, to achieve an aged patina in just the right places to reflect the aged qualities only time, wear, and frequent care could have accomplished naturally.

Artisanal products differ from fast fashion products in that they are made in a traditional or non-mechanized way. Artisanal products are hand-crafted by skilled cobblers in small quantities with high quality and design in mind; using techniques that cannot be replicated by machines!
